Association of Indians at Rutgers
About
Over fifty-five years ago, the Association of Indians at Rutgers was created to celebrate and promote various parts of the Indian culture to its community, and now, the organization has flourished and fulfilled that credo beyond anyone’s imagination. Today, we are the largest cultural organization at Rutgers, a university that encompasses the largest population of South Asian students in the nation. Our university’s rich and diverse population, allows us to not only celebrate our own way of life, through shows and events but to show people of all cultures the depth of Indian culture and tradition. We continually strive to preserve our own nationality while integrating it into our daily lives in America. Through community service projects and fundraisers, we support the community and less fortunate, and through shows and various traditional events, we also celebrate the culture we love.
Although known for our annual Air Show, the Association of Indians at Rutgers has events including, but not limited to AIR Garba, Chit and Chaat, as well as co-sponsored events with various other South Asian organizations here at Rutgers University! We welcome all students at rutgers to attend to have food, mingle, and enjoy watching different acts. For our events, a majority of our proceeds go towards a charity of our choosing. If there is one in particular you think we should look into, please do not hesitate to email us!
